What Happens:
Complete our puppy application. This helps us understand your lifestyle, expectations, and preferences to ensure the best puppy-family match. Applications are reviewed within 1-3 business days.

We review applications within 1-3 business days and follow up with approval or additional questions as needed. Approval doesn’t obligate you to move forward—it simply confirms you’re a good fit for our program.

Deposit & Reservation
What Happens:
Place a $400 deposit to officially reserve your spot, and puppy. Deposits are accepted in order of receipt and your selection order during Open House.

- Status: Non-refundable but transferable to future litters if circumstances change

Within 24 hours of birth, we announce the litter arrival with:

- Week 3: Walking, playing with littermates, personality starting to show

Open House & Puppy Selection
What Happens:
Open House is when you meet the puppies, observe their personalities, and make your selection. This is the most exciting step in the process.
Open House Options:
In-Person Visit (Preferred)
- Scheduled appointment at our Murray, Utah home
- Duration: 20 minutes
- Children welcome and encouraged—we want puppies to meet your whole family
Virtual Visit (Available for Distant Families, must reside in Utah OR Idaho)
- Live video call via FaceTime, Zoom, or preferred platform
- We’ll show each available puppy and answer questions in real-time
- Duration: 20 minutes
Selection Process:
Families select puppies in deposit order (earliest deposits select first).
Making Your Selection:
Choose your puppy based on gender preference, personality fit, and visual appeal. We provide honest guidance to ensure the best match.
After Selection:
- Receive your puppy’s individual ID (name, gender, markings, collar color)
- Schedule a go-home day appointment (approximately 2 weeks later)

Continued Updates
What Happens:
Your selected puppy continues developing with intensive socialization, training introduction, and health preparations for go-home day.
Updates You’ll Receive:
- Bi-weekly or weekly photos and videos of your specific puppy

- Go-home day scheduling and preparation checklist
Your Preparation Tasks:
- Finalize puppy supplies (crate, bowls, food, toys, bedding)
- Puppy-proof your home
- Schedule first veterinary appointment (within 72 hours of go-home recommended)
- Arrange time off work for the first few days home
- Prepare family members for puppy arrival

Final coordination for pickup, payment, and go-home logistics.
One Week Before:
- Confirm the go-home appointment date and time

To protect the health and safety of our dogs and young puppies, we maintain strict biosecurity protocols that prevent pre-deposit home visits. We’re happy to schedule video calls and meet Ember and Hudson, and ask any questions before making your commitment.
Q: Can I take my puppy home before 6 weeks?
No. Puppies need the full 8 weeks with their mother and littermates for proper socialization, weaning, and development. Early removal can cause behavioral and health issues. This is a non-negotiable policy for the puppy’s well-being.
Q: What if I need to cancel after placing my deposit?
Deposits are non-refundable as they secure your spot and affect our planning. However, we work with families facing legitimate hardships and may transfer deposits to future litters when circumstances allow.
Q: Do you deliver puppies?
We prefer families to pick up puppies at our home for proper handoff. For distant families who live in Utah, or Idaho we can discuss meeting points, or we can transport on a case-by-case basis. You must reside in the state of Utah or Idaho for Olsen Family Doodles to accept your purchase. (additional fees apply for transport)
